English Language Institute Qualifications Framework

The English Language Institute Qualifications Framework (ELI- QF) acts as a translation device to make the English Language Institute qualifications more readable inside and outside Sudan. This framework will promoting international accreditation of the qualifications awarded by the English Language Institute. It will also facilitate workers' and learners' mobility between countries and facilitating their lifelong learning. The ELI-QF is based on similar international systems with consideration to local qualification systems and the University of Khartoum Training Committee regulations for awarding certificates. This system will facilitate rating of ELI qualifications. This approach shifts the focus from the traditional system which emphasizes 'learning inputs', such as the length of a learning experience, or type of institution. It also encourages lifelong learning by promoting the validation of non-formal and informal learning.
